Submit a topic for a future family physician CME event

Every Fall, Ottawa Public Health hosts an annual accredited continuing medical education event for Ottawa family physicians. This is your opportunity to provide input on the topics you would like to see covered about issues where primary care and public health intersect.

Our 2020 event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14 at St. Elias Hall, from 5 pm to 9 pm. Topic suggestions for the 2020 event must be submitted by March 17, 2020.

Any topics submitted after March 17, 2020 will be considered for our 2021 event.

Our previous accredited events offered a one-credit-per hour group learning program in three consecutive sessions on the following topics:   

2019 topics:

  • Lyme Disease (prevention, tick bites and prophylaxis) 
  • Latent TB Infection (emerging approaches) 
  • Prescribing HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) 

2018 topics

  • Management of animal bites & rabies post-exposure prophylaxis 
  • Infection prevention and control (IPAC) in the primary care office 
  • Immunization refresher
